Body
WHEREAS the 2006 Capital Budget includes an amount of $200,000 for architectural and engineering consultant design services, an Architect consultant must be hired to design this project; and,

WHEREAS the Sequoya Branch Library will expand into new larger quarters within the Midvale Plaza Shopping Center. The City will purchase condominium space including the use of common areas from the shopping center owners. The City will finish the interior improvement space including furnishings and equipment, and,

WHEREAS the project is the development and preparation of designs, plans and specifications, preparation of bid documents, assistance in the bid process and construction administration for the design and construction of improvements for the Sequoya Branch Library. The project consists of library space to be owned by the City within a new building located on Midvale Blvd.

WHEREAS the scope of this project is for professional architectural and engineering design services for interior improvement space. The improvement area of this project is approximately 19,326 square feet. The site and building shell will be designed and constructed by a third party Developer. Condominium space will be City-owned.

WHEREAS the City anticipates hiring a consultant in March 2006. Schematic design is scheduled for completion in June 2006. Design development and construction documents are scheduled for completion in October 2006.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council hereby authorizes City Staff to proceed with "Request for Qualifications" services including LEED Certification for commercial interi...
