PREAMBLE
The City of Madison has solicited consulting proposals for Engineering Services for the Replacement of the Milwaukee Street Bridge over the West Branch of the Starkweather Creek. The City Engineer has reviewed the proposals and has selected MSA Professional Services, Inc to provide the Engineering Services. The Milwaukee Street Bridge is in poor condition and the City Engineer has determined that the bridge should be replaced. Federal Bridge Funds have been approved for the design and construction of the project. This consulting agreement will provide for public involvement, environmental assessment and preparation of plans and specifications. In addition, the agreement will provide for sanitary main plans within the project limits. The construction of the project is scheduled for 2005. Both the design and construction will be funded with 20% City funds and 80% Federal funds.
The City of Madison Common Council adopted on April 15, 2003 Resolution No. 60455, File I.D. No. 33831 Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into an agreement for design engineering services with the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation and MSA Professional Services, Inc for the Milwaukee Street Bridge over the West Branch of the Starkweather Creek.
