The proposed resolution would accept Focus on Energy incentives and amend the 2020 Adopted Capital budget to reflect receipt of those funds. The resolution would increase the 2020 Adopted Capital budget for Engineering - Facilities Management Energy Improvements (MUNIS 12354) by $219,000 and Metro Facility Improvements Project by $125,000 (MUNIS 11229).

Body
WHEREAS, Focus on Energy is an energy efficiency and renewable resource program funded by the state’s investor-owned energy utilities, under Wis. Stat. § 196.374(2)(a), and participating municipal and electric cooperative utilities. The program works with eligible Wisconsin residents, businesses, and local governments to install cost-effective energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. The program is currently administered by APTIM (“Program Administrator”) under contract with Statewide Energy Efficiency and Renewable Administration, Inc. (“SEERA”) although the program administrator can change from time to time; and,

WHEREAS the City and Focus on Energy have entered into Incentive Agreements for various installations completed in 2020 that improve energy efficiency and reduce operating costs; AND,

WHEREAS the total incentive amount offered by Focus on Energy is not a guarantee of specific incentive amounts; AND,

WHEREAS Focus on energy will determine the final incentive amounts after verification of the installations in 2020;
