The reconstruction will provide new gravel base, pavement, curb & gutter, multi-use path, lighting, storm sewer, sanitary sewer and water main. Pleasant View Road will be upgraded from a 2-lane to a 4-lane street. The City retained Strand Associates for design services for the project. One public informational meeting was held to present designs and obtain public input. The proposed design includes, two northbound vehicle lanes, two southbound vehicle lanes, a multi-use path on both sides of the street from Mineral Point Road to Elderberry Road, a multi-use path on the west side of the street from Mineral Point Road to Blackhawk Road and existing sidewalk to remain on the east of the street from Elderberry Road to Old Sauk Road. New medians and left turn lanes are included in the design. The intersections of Pleasant View Road with Elderberry Road and Blackhawk Road and Greenway Boulevard are proposed to be rebuilt with roundabouts.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the roadway geometry for Pleasant View Road Reconstruction (Mineral Point Road to USH 14) is hereby approved and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that City Engineering and City Traffic Engineering are hereby authorized to proceed with final design for the project.
