Congratulating Brad Clark on his retirement and thanking him for 26 years of exemplary service to the City of Madison.
Body
WHEREAS, Brad Clark joined CitiCable 12 in August of 1988 and became its Manager in March of 1994; and
WHEREAS, Brad has overseen the operations of CitiCable (including its name change to the Madison City Channel 12 in 1996) with professionalism, dedication, and good humor; and
WHEREAS, Brad directed the rebranding and channel changes to Madison City Channel in 2008; and
WHEREAS, he has overseen the start of web streaming video for meeting and event coverage since 2000; and
WHEREAS, Brad’s management has overseen the expansion of the channel coverage from just Charter Communications to include AT&T U-Verse and Vernon Telephone Cooperative; and
WHEREAS, Brad has also served as Producer and Director of “District Reports” since its premiere in 1989, helping Madison residents to understand the workings of the Madison Common Council; and
WHEREAS, under Brad’s tenure, City Channel has expanded its programming to include important City meetings such as the Plan Commission and the Alcohol License Review Committee, as well as special “Ad-Hoc” productions such as coverage of the debate over the Edgewater Hotel at Urban Design and Landmarks Commission and coverage of the annual Martin Luther King Jr. celebration; and
WHEREAS, Brad further expanded programming to include programs such as Conexion Latina starting in 2005; and
WHEREAS, Brad helped guide City Channel through the State of Wisconsin's adoption of the Video Competition Act, which eliminated PEG Fees as a major source of City Channel funding, without a loss of programming or coverage, and its subsequent incorporation into the Information Technology Department; and
WHEREAS, Madison City Channel has won numerous state and national awards during Brad’s tenure for the quality and creativity of its programming; and
