Funds are available in the 2012 Library Operating Budget for the increased salary and benefits related to the provisional Library Director appointment.
Title
Approving an extension of the provisional appointment of Susan Lee until such time as the position of Library Director is filled on a permanent basis.
Body
WHEREAS, Susan Lee has been filling the position of Library Director on a provisional basis since February 25, 2012; and
WHEREAS, City Ordinance allows for provisional appointments for six (6) months unless further approval is granted by the Madison Common Council; and
WHEREAS, the six month provisional appointment is set to expire on August 25, 2012; and
WHEREAS, the position of Library Director has been filled on a permanent basis and the new Director is expected to begin work on September 2, 2012; and
WHEREAS, the Library Board supports the extension of Susan Lee's provisional appointment in order to avoid a gap in leadership at the Library;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Susan Lee's appointment be extended on a provisional basis with no change to the terms of her current provisional appointment until September 1, 2012 or the first day of that the position is filled on a permanent basis.
