The proposed resolution recreates a vacant Account Clerk 3 position to a Marketing/Customer Service Manager position in the Metro Transit operating budget. The position is expected to be vacant in the first quarter of 2022. If employed for three quarters in 2022, this change will result in additional costs of $8,000. Metro plans to accommodate additional costs within its 2022 budget. The annualized cost increase of this change in future years is $ 49,000 at the entry level and $59,000 at the max step/longevity level of the position.

This resolution seeks to delete position #2852 of Account Clerk 3 (CG42, R11), and recreate the position as a Marketing/Customer Service Manager (CG44, R14) in the Metro operating budget, thereof.
WHEREAS, Metro Transit has a number of large projects that are being implemented over the next few years; and,
WHEREAS, Metro has struggled to fill certain vacant positions with highly skilled and qualified candidates due to the employment market; and,
WHEREAS, Metro has been utilizing consultants to supplement staff;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that vacant Account Clerk 3 position #2852 (CG42, R11) be recreated as Marketing/Customer Service Manager position (CG44, RG14), in the Metro operating budget.
