The proposed resolution authorizes a contract for snow removal services at Parking Utility facilities. The 2020 Adopted Operating Budget and 2021 Executive Operating Budget each include $345,000 within the Parking Utility for these services. The actual cost of the service depends upon the severity of winter weather. Costs in 2019 totaled approximately $269,000.

Authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to enter into an agreement with Tom's Bobcat and Concrete Removal, LLC for snow removal services at Parking Utility facilities.
Body
WHEREAS the City of Madison Parking Utility needs to have its parking facilities cleared of snow and ice in order to operate its parking facilities and to keep customers safe; and
WHEREAS the Parking Utility has historically enlisted the services of snow removal contractors who perform snow removal services efficiently; and
WHEREAS the current contract for snow removal services is due to expire October 31, 2020; and
WHEREAS a Request for Bids for Parking Utility snow removal services was issued on September 4, 2020; and
WHEREAS, only two proposals were received; and
WHEREAS, Tom's Bobcat and Concrete Removal, LLC was the only responsive and responsible bidder; and
WHEREAS, the initial term of the contract shall be from November 1, 2020 through June, 2022 with the option of three 1-year renewal terms to run from July 1 to June 30th of subsequent years.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are authorized to sign a contract as set forth above with Tom's Bobcat and Concrete Removal, LLC, for snow and ice removal at Parking Utility facilities.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the City Traffic Engineer and Parking Manager, or his designee, is authorized to execute the three, one-year renewals by mutual written agreement of the Parties. Estimated funds for this Agreement will be included in the Parking Utility Operating budget for each year of the Agreement including any renewals.
