The proposed resolution amends the 2019 Engineering-Other Projects Capital Budget by transferring $45,000 of existing GO Borrowing appropriation from the Right-of-Way Landscaping program to the Warning Sirens program. The additional budget for the Warning Sirens program will fully fund four siren installations in 2019.

Amending the 2019 Engineering-Other Projects capital budget to transfer $45,000 in existing budget authority from the Right-of-Way Landscaping program to the Warning Sirens Program to provide required additional funding to install four (4) new warning sirens. (9th, 17th, 3rd and 16th ADs)
Body
WHEREAS, City Engineering has put out for bid a Contract for installation of four (4) new emergency warning sirens to better cover developing areas of the City; and
WHEREAS, the bids for this contract came in approximately $25,000.00 over budget; and
WHEREAS, the cost to extend electrical services to the new siren locations is estimated at approximately $10,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the most economical method to proceed is to do these sirens under one contract; and
WHEREAS, the Engineering “Other” budget contains $45,000.00 in carry over authorization from 2018 that is not planned for use in 2019; and
WHEREAS, completion of the construction of the four (4) sirens will cover the City for the next several years without a new contract;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that:
The 2019 Engineering Other Capital Budget is amended according to the fiscal note to cover the costs associated with installation of four (4) new warning sirens.
