Title

Allowing the deferral of special assessments on the South Pleasant View Road, Mid Town Road, McKee Road, Meriter Way, Wellness Way and Raymond Road Assessment District - 2017 for parcel located at 8251 Raymond Rd. (1st and 7th ADs)

Body

WHEREAS, on September 21, 2021, the Council approved the final schedule of assessments for the South Pleasant View Road, Mid Town Road, McKee Road, Meriter Way, Wellness Way and Raymond Road Assessment District - 2017 (File No. 66876).  This assessment district included properties in the Town of Verona, which were being assessed pursuant to the terms of a 2017 intergovernmental agreement with the Town of Verona in which the City agreed to assess Town parcels in the same manner is parcels in the City; and,

 

WHEREAS, as part of the final schedule of assessment, the City allowed the deferral of assessments, under MGO Sec. 4.081, for properties located in the City that are zoned with agricultural use.  This authorization should have extended to the Town parcel located at 8251 Raymond Road (parcel no. 062-0608-034-9002-0), which has agricultural zoning under the Dane County zoning code. 

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the special assessments levied against the Town of Verona parcel located at 8251 Raymond Road (parcel no. 062-0608-034-9002-0) as part of the South Pleasant View Road, Mid Town Road, McKee Road, Meriter Way, Wellness Way and Raymond Road Assessment District - 2017 are deferred pursuant to MGO Sec. 4.081(2)(a).  The conditions of deferral set forth in note 3 on the final schedule of assessments shall also apply to this parcel, specifically that the assessment shall be deferred for 10 years with interest and that upon completion of the deferment period, payment shall be made with interest in 8 equal yearly installments. In the event of certain occurrences as outlined in section 4.0841(4), the assessments shall be paid in full prior to the end of the deferral period.
