Authorizing the Office of Real Estate Services to proceed with the acquisition of required land interests from the leasehold interest from The Bridges Golf Course, LLC for the property owned by Dane County Airport, as shown on the previously approved Transportation Project Plat No. 5992-08-04-4.02 and authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to sign all required documents necessary to accomplish the acquisition of said land interests. PREAMBLE
On July 18, 2006, the City of Madison Common Council adopted RES-06-00614 which determined the public need to acquire land interests from certain properties to allow for the proposed public improvements for the Starkweather Creek Bike Path Project (Engineering Project No. 53B0963).
The project requires acquisition of a leasehold interest from The Bridges Golf Course, LLC for the property owned by Dane County, as shown on previously approved Transportation Project Plat No. 5992-08-04-4.02, which was recorded July 27, 2006 in Volume 59-014B of Plats on Page 79 as Document No. 4218116 with the Dane County Register of Deeds (attached and made part of this Resolution).
The City of Madison Office of Real Estate Services Division of the Community and Economic Development Unit has established a Master File / Project No. 8453 to administer the property acquisition required for the proposed improvements for the Starkweather Creek Corridor. An individual Real Estate Project No. 8475 has been established to administer the acquisition of land interests from the property designated as Parcel 4, TPP 5992-08-04-4.02, owned by the Dane County Airport.
Dane County Airport owns the subject Parcel 4 and leases the property to The Bridges Golf Course, LLC.
Dane County Airport requests, and has no objection to, the City of Madison negotiating the acquisition of land interests directly with the leasehold interest.
