Title
Authorizing the execution of an Underground Utility Easement and Easement Release to Madison Gas and Electric Company across a portion of Henry Vilas Zoo property, located at 702 S. Randall Avenue.
Body
WHEREAS, Madison Gas and Electric Company (“MG&E”) has several existing underground electric and gas main facilities that serve the City of Madison Henry Vilas Zoo property (“Park”), at 702 S. Randall Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the MG&E has obtained a number of utility easements for the underground electric and gas main facilities within the Park property, as part of requested upgrades to the utility service for the Park; and
WHEREAS, portions of the aforementioned MG&E utility easements have not been utilized and other MG&E utility easements have not been memorialized by way of recorded conveyances; therefore, MG&E has mapped the existing utilities that are in place and others utility easement areas that can be released; and
WHEREAS, as a result of said mapping, MG&E has requested several new ten (10) foot wide underground electric and gas main easements (“Easements”); and in turn, releases of a portions of the existing easements that were never utilitized (“Releases”), as depicted on Exhibit A, B, B1 and C; and
WHEREAS, the City Parks Division and the Office of Real Estate Services have reviewed and approve of the new Easements and Easement Releases.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an Underground Utility Easement and Release of Easement with Madison Gas and Electric for the Easement areas described as follows:
Multiple strips of land, ten (10) feet in width, located in part of the S1/2 of Section 22, and in part of the N1/2 of Section 27, Town 7 North, Range 9 East, City of Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin, the centerlines of said strips more particularly described as follows:
