Fiscal Note
The proposed Amendment to the Agreement with SCS BT Squared (formerly BT Squared, Inc.) for the well siting study for Madison Water Utility Pressure Zone 4 will not exceed $25,000. Total contract value will be increased to $103,000. Funds for this Amendment are included in the 2012 Water Utility Capital Budget for Zone 4 Fire Flow Supply Augmentation (810517).

Authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute Amendment No. 1 to a contract with SCS BT Squared (formerly BT Squared, Inc.) for engineering services for a well siting study for Madison Water Utility Pressure Zone 4 (16th AD).
Body
WHEREAS, in 2010 Madison Water Utility Water contracted with SCS BT Squared (formerly BT Squared, Inc.) to provide engineering services to assist in selecting a site for a new well in Madison Water Utility Pressure Zone 4; and
WHEREAS, all tasks designated in the original contract have been completed within the prescribed contract amount; and
WHEREAS, the Water Utility Board determined that a second test well was needed at a second site to determine the optimum site for a new well; and
WHEREAS, investigation, analysis, and reports required for a second site were not included in the Scope of Services of the original contract; and
WHEREAS, the City of Madison has a limited time frame under which to make a decision on exercising options on the purchase of property for a new well site thus making it more expedient to extend the original contract rather than advertise for and execute a new contract;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are authorized to execute Amendment No. 1 to the Professional Services Agreement withSCS BT Squared (formerly BT Squared, Inc.) for the Zone 4 Fire Flow Supply Augmentation Project not to exceed $25,000 bringing the total value of the Zone 4 Fire Flow Supply Augmentation Project to $103,000.
