Expenditures for this program are authorized in the 2008 Operating Budget. No additional appropriation is required. There is no anticipated impact upon cost controls or the tax levy.

Authorizing the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County on behalf of Public Health-Madison and Dane County to accept up to $45,000 from the Wisconsin Department of Family Services for HIV Prevention Services for the period of January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2008 and authorizing the Director to sign for Public Health-Madison and Dane County.
Body
WHEREAS HIV infection remains a significant public health risk, with a disproportionate burden for risk and disease in certain subpopulations,
WHEREAS Public Health has conducted HIV prevention services, including partner counseling and referral services in Dane County in past years and intends to continue to provide these services in 2008,
WHEREAS Public Health-Madison and Dane County has received a grant of $45,000 from the State of Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services, Division of Public Health,
WHEREAS the 2008 grant extends partner counseling and referral services to Adams, Columbia, Iowa, Richland, and Sauk Counties, with the grant covering all costs of providing these services to other counties,
WHEREAS the expenditures required to provide these services are included in the 2008 Adopted Operating Budget,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County on behalf of Public Health-Madison and Dane County is authorized to accept up to $45,000 from the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services Division of Public Health for HIV Prevention Services for the period of January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2008 to be used for program expenses and authorizing the Director to sign on behalf of Public Health-Madison and Dane County.
