Title

Approving the Goodman Pool Behavior Policy and Suspension Notice

Body

To give pool staff additional tools to ensure a welcoming atmosphere and the safety of all patrons at the pool, staff recommends approval for the Goodman Pool Behavior Policy and Suspension Notice. The Madison Parks Behavior Policy was approved by the Board of Park Commissions on September 12, 2012 (Legislative File 27598) and also applies to the Goodman Pool. The Goodman Pool Behavior Policy provides additional specificity on behavior expectations based on the unique nature of the pool compared to other parks in the system.

The Goodman Pool Behavior Policy will be posted on the Madison Parks Goodman Pool website. The enforcement of the Behavior Policy will start with first educating those in violation of the Behavior Policy by pool staff. The Behavior Policy outlines the potential consequences of continued or severe violations of the policy. In some cases, pool staff may need to suspend a member from the pool, in which case a Suspension Notice will be issued.  In alignment with the Madison Parks Behavior Policy, individuals that are suspended for more than 24 hours have an appeal process, which is outlined in the Suspension Notice paperwork.
