Board of Health for Madison and Dane County Resolution #2024-17 Authorization to Accept Additional Funds from The Roots and Wings Foundation, Inc. to support the Maternal and Child Health Population from Pregnancy Through Age 4

Public Health Madison and Dane County (Public Health) proposes the acceptance of an additional $25,000 from The Roots and Wings Foundation, Inc. to support the Maternal and Child Health population from pregnancy through age 4. Roots and Wings is a nonprofit, private foundation which supports organizations in Wisconsin, as well as others across the nation, in the areas of early childhood, basic needs, healthcare and human rights.
The Board of Health for Madison and Dane County previously approved Resolution #2023-36 authorizing the acceptance of $250,000 from Roots and Wings in 2024. PHMDC received an additional $25,000 from Roots and Wings, increasing the total amount to $275,000.
The Roots and Wings grant funds will be used across all Public Health programs that provide support to families from pregnancy through age 4. This includes Nurse Family Partnership, Prenatal Care Coordination, WIC- Women Infant Children, and Fetal Infant Mortality Review.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County on behalf of Public Health Madison and Dane County authorizes the Director of Public Health, or their designee, to sign the agreement, accept and expend the funding, and amend the 2024 Public Health Budget by $25,000.
