Title
Board of Health for Madison and Dane County Resolution #2024-12 Authorization to Accept Reimbursement Funds from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services for the Bridge Access and Vaccines for Adults Programs
Body
Public Health Madison and Dane County (Public Health) proposes the acceptance of funds from two separate sources to support the immunization program.

Public Health plans to receive an estimated $28,000 in 2024 and $10,000 in 2025 from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) for the Bridge Access Program (BAP). The BAP is a program administered by the DHS Immunization Program that provides COVID 19 vaccines to adults without insurance. As part of this program, DHS will provide financial reimbursement to local health departments in the amount of $36 per COVID vaccine administered by the local health department to eligible participants. The BAP plans to continue these reimbursements through June 2025. Funds received will be used to improve vaccination rates within Dane County through a variety of strategies and interventions including but not limited to outreach/mobile clinics and community engagement.

Additionally, Public Heath proposes the acceptance of $2,000 from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services for the Vaccines for Adult (VFA) Program. The VFA Program is administered by the DHS Immunization Program that provides routine vaccines to adults without insurance. The DHS Immunization Program provides vaccines to local health departments at no cost for eligible clients. Funds will be used to pay for contract interpreters who staff our Immunization Clinics.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County on behalf of Public Health Madison and Dane County authorizes the Director of Public Health, or their designee, to sign the agreement, and accept and expend the funding in the amount of $28,000 in 2024, and $10,000 in 2025 for the Bridge Access Program; and
