Title: Board of Health for Madison and Dane County Resolution #2024-11 Authorization to Accept Additional Funds from WI Early Childhood Association for the Radon Program

Title

Board of Health for Madison and Dane County Resolution #2024-11 Authorization to Accept Additional Funds from WI Early Childhood Association for the Radon Program

Body

Public Health Madison and Dane County (Public Health) proposes the acceptance of an additional $4,750 from Wisconsin Early Childhood Association (WECA) for the Radon Program.

In 2023, the State of Wisconsin required childcare facilities in Wisconsin to test for radon. As a result, the WECA asked Public Health to supply radon test kits to their Association members. This resulted in the sale of 475 additional radon test kits than what was expected.

Currently, Public Health is authorized to accept $2,000 from individual customers for the purchase of radon test kits per the approved 2024 Public Health operating budget. However, due to the purchase of the additional 475 radon test kits from the WECA, Public Health plans to receive an additional $4,750 in 2024, increasing the total amount collected for radon test kit sales to $6,750.

The additional $4,750 in revenue will be added to the Radon Program budget (32435) as Misc Revenue (47190) and be expended under Work Supplies (53210).

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County on behalf of Public Health Madison and Dane County authorizes the Director of Public Health, or their designee, to sign the agreement, accept and expend the funding, and increase the 2024 Public Health Budget by $4,750.
