Fiscal Note

The proposed resolution authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to execute a contract between the City of Madison and Mead & Hunt, Inc., for design engineering services in 2024 and 2025 for Mineral Point Road from USH 12 to S. High Point Road. The total estimated cost is $420,700. Funding of $125,000 is allocated in the 2024 Executive Capital Budget. Funds are available in Munis #11131. No additional appropriation is required.

Authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute a contract between the City of Madison and Mead & Hunt, Inc., for design engineering services for Mineral Point Road from USH 12 to S. High Point Road (District 9).

Body

The City of Madison is proposing to reconstruct Mineral Point Road from USH 12 to S. High Point Road in 2026.  The project includes reconstruction of the roadway, traffic signals, lighting & stormwater facilities. The City desires to enter into an agreement with a consultant for design engineering services.

 

Pursuant to City Ordinances and Policies, the City Engineer advertised for consultant proposals, reviewed the submitted proposals, and recommends the design engineering contract be awarded to Mead & Hunt, Inc.  The consultant’s services will include the completion of preliminary plans and the Environmental Assessment report and Final Plans & Specifications. 

 

This will be a multi-year design project (2024-2025) and construction is scheduled for 2026. 

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Mead & Hunt, Inc. for design engineering services for Mineral Point Road from USH 12 to S. High Point Road.
