The proposed resolution authorizes the acceptance of $54,800 in private donations through a grant and amends the Parks Division's 2023 Adopted Capital Budget Parks Equipment Program (Munis #17202) by $54,800 to accept the private funding. The private funding will be used to purchase one new 15-passenger van to support Warner Park Community Recreation Center's Kids Need Opportunities at Warner (KNOW) program through a grant awarded to the Madison Parks Foundation. No additional appropriation is required.

Body
WHEREAS, the Madison Parks Foundation was awarded a grant from the 100 Men of Dane County to purchase vehicles to transport youth participating in the Kids Need Opportunities at Warner program to and from different programs and field trips; and

WHEREAS, the Madison Parks Foundation is an official Affiliate Organization of the City with the purpose of supporting the City of Madison Parks Division; and

WHEREAS, the Ford Transit T230 will provide for transportation to youth that would not otherwise have opportunities to participate in valuable pro-social programming at the Warner Park Community and Recreation Center; and

WHEREAS, the City of Madison Fleet Division has researched and identified the Ford Transit T230 as the best product for these purposes, which include long distance trips; and

WHEREAS, the City of Madison Fleet Division has prepared for procurement of the vehicle in compliance with the City of Madison Purchasing requirements; and

WHEREAS, under the direction of the City’s Risk Management office, the Parks Division has established a training program for the drivers of the vehicle; and
