Compensation for the three easement acquisitions, anticipated to total approximately $79,300, will be deposited into the following respective City Engineering Division Accounts: General Easement Revenue 110010-47145 (513 Jacobson Ave and 3509 Webb Ave) and Stormwater Administration Easement Revenue 84110-47145 (699 Mayfair Ave). No City appropriation required.

Body
WHEREAS, American Transmission Company, LLC (“ATC”) owns, operates, and maintains an existing electrical transmission line (“Line”) that passes through three parcels of real property owned by the City of Madison (“City”), located at 3509 Webb Avenue, 513 Jacobson Avenue, and 699 Mayfair Avenue (together, “City Property”); and

WHEREAS, as part of ATC’s ongoing review of their electrical transmission system, they identified that the section of the Line passing through the City’s Property lacks easement rights required to access the Line for maintenance and rebuilding; and

WHEREAS, ATC made three written offers to pay the City a total of $79,300 as compensation (“Compensation”) for the acquisition of the necessary easement areas, which are legally described and depicted on attached Exhibits 1, 2, and 3; and

WHEREAS, the amount of Compensation is based upon the difference in the fair market value of the City Property before and after the acquisition of easement rights, as determined by appraisals that have been reviewed and approved by the City’s Office of Real Estate Services and Engineering Division.
