Adoption of Park Development Plans for seven neighborhood and mini parks in the Northeast Planning Area.

The Northeast Area planning process began in January 2023 and will address land use, transportation, housing, parks and open space, stormwater management, economic development, historic and cultural resources, and facilities and utilities. Equitable and inclusive public participation will be key to the success of the process to help ensure that it is accessible to a broad audience, including people who are traditionally underrepresented.
Parks has conducted a parallel Parks Division-led process for the neighborhood and mini parks during the larger area planning process and has produced a Park Development Plan for each park. In March 2023, Parks staff provided an informational presentation and sought input from the Board of Park Commissioners on the proposed draft park development plans. Staff is seeking adoption of the proposed Park Development Plans from the Board of Park Commissioners for the following parks; Brigham Park, Carpenter-Ridgeway Park, Churchill Heights Park, Glacier Hill Park, Mayfair Park, Sandburg Park, and Westchester Gardens Park.
These plans, adopted by the Board of Park Commissioners, shall guide development of these parks and conforms to the City of Madison Adopted Park Master Plan Policy.
