Approving the Application for a pedal-cab service operator license for Badger Bike Taxi Cab.

WHEREAS, Badger Bike Taxi has applied for a pedal-cab service operator license and 1 flat rate permit (vehicle);
WHEREAS, alcohol will not be allowed to be consumed by passengers or the driver while in this vehicle;
WHEREAS, the Division of Traffic Engineering has completed a thorough investigation of and concluded that the company meets eligibility criteria as listed under MGO (11.064 (b);
WHEREAS, any fixed route changes by Badger Bike Taxi would be subject to review by Traffic Engineering;
WHEREAS, this vehicle would be subject to all state laws and Madison Ordinances pertaining to bicycles;
WHEREAS, the City’s Risk Manager has reviewed the applicant’s liability insurance coverage and found that it complies with city ordinance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council approves Badger Bike Taxi application to operate pedal cabs and approves its request for one flat rate permit in 2023.
LET IT FURTHER BE RESOLVED that Badger Bike Taxi Cab Application for a pedal-cab service operator license and one flat rate permit, subject to the provisions and conditions as stated above and the ordinances of the City of Madison, be approved.
