The proposed resolution modifies RES-22-00091, adopted on February 1, 2022 (Legislative File 68974). The proposed resolution extends the end date of the Lake Monona Waterfront Ad-hoc Committee from September 1, 2023, to the earlier of either the date of master plan submission to the Common Council or March 31, 2024. No addtional appropriation is required. (4th, 6th, 13th, and 14th ADs)

Body

WHEREAS, RES-22-00091 was enacted on February 1, 2022, to create the Lake Monona Waterfront Ad-hoc Committee with a dissolution date of September 1, 2023; and,

WHEREAS, the substantive work of the Ad-hoc Committee to refine and revise the preferred master plan selected through the Lake Monona Waterfront Design Challenge is ongoing; and,

WHEREAS, additional time is essential to take into consideration the community input received from various sources, including the feedback gathered during the July public event and the general correspondence related to the master plan; and,

WHEREAS, the Ad-hoc Committee, working closely with the consultant design team, anticipates submission of the recommended master plan to the Common Council in the first quarter of 2024; and,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the end date of the Lake Monona Waterfront Ad-hoc Committee is changed to the date of master plan submission to the Common Council, or March 31, 2024, whichever is soonest.
