Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution approves an extension of a provisional appointment for the Parks Street Use Staff Team Coordinator position. The incumbent has been filling the position since January 9, 2022 and this resolution extends the appointment until the position is filled on a permanent basis or until December 9, 2023, whichever is earlier. Funding for the Parks Street Use Staff Team Coordinator position is included in the 2023 Adopted Operating Budget. No additional appropriation is required.

Approving an extension of a provisional appointment for Kelly Post from June 9, 2023 until such time as the position of Parks Street Use Staff Team Coordinator is filled on a permanent basis or until December 9, 2023, whichever is earlier.
Body
WHEREAS, Kelly Post has been filling the position of Parks Street Use Staff Team Coordinator, on a provisional basis, assuming all responsibilities of the Community and Street Use section since January 9, 2022; and
WHEREAS, it is expected that she will continue to perform these duties until the Parks Street Use Staff Team Coordinator is filled on a permanent basis; and
WHEREAS, City Personnel Rules allow for provisional appointments for six (6) months unless further approval is granted by the Madison Common Council; and
WHEREAS, The CC approved the position’s reclassification on 4/19/23, and Parks staff are working with Human Resources to conduct a recruitment to fill the position permanently.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Kelly Post’s provisional appointment be extended from June 9, 2023, with no change to the terms of the current provisional appointment, until the Parks Street Use Staff Team Coordinator position is filled on a permanent basis or until December 9, 2023, whichever is earlier.
