Approval of 2023 Operating Budget transfer of $85,380.87 between major accounts.

Body

WHEREAS, Madison Public Library (MPL) received funds in 2022 from Madison Public Library Foundation (MPLF) for the upgrade of audio-visual equipment at the Sequoya and Goodman South Madison branches; and,

WHEREAS, MPL did not fully spend these funds in 2022 and the 2022 carry forward budget posted to Supplies account Machinery & Equipment (object 53410); and,

WHEREAS, MPL is contracting out for the services of the equipment upgrade using Purchased Services account Equipment Improvement/Repair/Maintenance (object 54330); and,

WHEREAS, MPL needs to transfer the budget to the appropriate account, which crosses account major categories, but has a net $0 effect to MPL's operating budget; requiring Madison Public Library Board approval of the transfer.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the transfer of $85,380.87 from MPL's Supplies to Purchased Services is approved by Madison Public Library Board.
