Commending and thanking Alder Patrick Heck for his dedicated service to the constituents in District 2 and to the City of Madison.

Body

WHEREAS, Alder Patrick Heck was elected to the Madison Common Council on April 2, 2019; and

 

WHEREAS, Alder Heck served on the Downtown Coordinating Committee; Historic Preservation Plan Advisory Committee; Madison Area Transportation Planning Board (MPO); Plan Commission; Public Safety Review Committee; Ad Hoc Landmarks Ordinance Review Committee; President’s Work Group to Review Council Communication Tools & Processes; Housing Strategy Committee; Committee on Aging; Public Market Development Committee; Common Council Executive Committee; Joint Campus Area Committee; and Madison’s Central Business Improvement District (BID) Board; and

 

WHEREAS, with the help of Plan Commission, city staff, and other alders, Alder Heck crafted and approved zoning changes and other policies that have drastically increased housing opportunities for all citywide; and

WHEREAS, due to redistricting, Alder Heck successfully pivoted from representing a district with a many constituents living in single-family dwellings to a district with few single-family dwellings, many more students, and a multitude of small businesses, most with downtown-focused needs and concerns; and

WHEREAS, across all agencies, Alder Heck had productive and respectful relationships with city staff; and

WHEREAS, Alder Heck, through his hard work and dedication to his alder duties, has faithfully and with honor served his constituents and the City of Madison;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common Council commend and thank Alder Patrick Heck for his dedicated service to his constituents in District 2 and the City of Madison.
