Board of Health for Madison and Dane County Resolution #2023-11 Authorization to Accept Continued Grant Funds from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for COVID-19 Vaccination Efforts

Public Health-Madison and Dane County (PHMDC) proposes accepting continued grant funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to support the ongoing implementation of COVID-19 vaccination activities. Specifically, PHMDC proposes accepting $227,502.70 from March 31, 2023 through May 11, 2023 to continue to operate mobile vaccination clinics across the City of Madison and Dane County with the goal of equitable vaccine access.
FEMA is providing a 95% federal cost share for COVID-19 vaccination efforts and these funds will be utilized for reimbursement for costs associated with personnel expenses, personal protective equipment, and contracted services, among other costs.
Under the terms of the merger agreement, the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County may authorize PHMDC to accept and spend grant funds (IGA, VII, F, 1-3).
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Health for Madison Dane County, on behalf of Public Health-Madison and Dane County, authorizes the Director of Public Health to sign updated grant agreements, amend respective budgets, and accept an estimated $227,502.70 of continued funding from Federal Emergency Management Agency to support ongoing COVID-19 vaccination efforts.
