The proposed resolution authorizes an agreement with National Class E-Scow Association, Inc. (NCESA) at Marshall Park Boat Launch in effect until October 1, 2023. The agreement sets the terms and conditions upon which the City will allow NCESA to close and use the Marshall Park boat launch and surrounding park area for the production of the National E-Scow Association 100 Year Anniversary Competition Event for the amount of $6,000. The Parks Division 2023 operating budget includes revenue for this event (Munis 51110-43522). No appropriation is required.

Body
WHEREAS, the National Class E-Scow Association, Inc. (NCESA) will be holding the National E-Scow Association 100 Year Anniversary Competition (“Event”) in 2023. The Event is a national-level competition and celebration that will be hosted by the Mendota Yacht Club and will take place in Madison, on Lake Mendota, from September 7 through September 10, 2023; and,

WHEREAS, the Event will attract tourism and economic development to the City and the City wishes to extend its support of the Event; and,

WHEREAS, NCESA desires to stage the Event, in part, within Marshall Park, which use would include the temporary closure of the boat launch to the public and the exclusive use of certain portions of the Park; and

WHEREAS, the Council is agreeable to the temporary closure and use of the Marshall Park boat launch and surrounding area for the Event.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to execute an Agreement with National Class E-Scow Association, Inc., for the use and closure of the Marshall Park boat launch and surrounding areas for the 100 Year Anniversary Competition of the National E-Scow Association...
