The proposed resolution creates a new classification of Streets Operations Leadworker in Comp Group 15, Range 9. The 2023 Adopted Operating Budget created a new Public Works Laborer program, including funding for 10 FTE laborer positions and 2 FTE leadworker positions. The resolution would recreate the positions from “Public Works Leadworkers” to “Streets Operations Leadworkers.”
The total cost for 2 new Streets Operation Leadworkers at Step 1, including benefits, is estimated at $147,690. The positions were fully funded through reallocations of funding for hourly staff, reductions in supplies and services, and other budget adjustments, in the Streets, Parks, and Engineering Divisions.
