Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution authorizes Monona Terrace to purchase a chiller at a cost of no more than $430,000. This purchase will be funded from the Machinery and Other Equipment capital program within Monona Terrace's 2023 capital budget, which is funded by room tax. After the purchase, the cost will be partially reimbursed by $334,987 in grants authorized in this amendment. These grant funds are not currently included in Monona Terrace's budget. The agency will submit a subsequent resolution to amend the 2023 capital budget and appropriate the grant funds within their Machinery and Other Equipment capital program.

Body: WHEREAS, Monona Terrace requires chillers to cool the facility in order to host events;

WHEREAS, Monona Terrace has reviewed available products and suppliers and identified Trane U.S. Inc.’s chiller, as the most efficient, the most environmentally sound, the longest lifespan, is made in the State of Wisconsin, has local service technicians and for the reasons explained in the attached Noncompetitive Selection Request Form; and

WHEREAS, the grants from Public Service Commission of Wisconsin and Focus on Energy and the City Sustainability Fund, were awarded based on specifications of the Trane U.S. Inc. chiller, to be paid out after the chiller purchase is made by Monona Terrace per the grant agreement.
