The proposed resolution authorizes a contract with Garver Events, LLC for exclusive alcohol beverage services at Olbrich Botanical Gardens from January 1, 2023 through December 31, 2024, with the possibility of two successive two-year renewal terms. Projected revenues related to this contract are projected to be approximately $10,000 annually and are included in the Parks Division 2023 Executive Operating Budget.

Body
WHEREAS, the City wishes to provide alcohol beverage services for Warner Park Community Recreation Center (“WPCRC”) and Olbrich Botanical Gardens (“Olbrich”) and such services provide revenue to the City and no additional staff resources if provided by an exclusive vendor; and

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Division and the Parks Division through a competitive process solicited bids for RFP# 11052-0-2022-AM, Alcohol Beverage Service for Olbrich and Garver Events was the sole responder; and

WHEREAS, Garver Events was established in 2019 and has been the successful event provider for Garver Feedmill and has collaborated with Olbrich for special events. Co-owner Bethany Jurewicz currently serves on the Madison Art Commission.

WHEREAS, a team consisting of Parks Division and Purchasing Division staff chose Garver Events to provide exclusive alcohol beverage services at Olbrich; and

WHEREAS, the City’s RFB advertised the contract as a two year contract from January 1, 2023 through December 31, 2024, with the possibility of two successive two-year renewal terms; and

WHEREAS, under MGO 4.26(3)(e) service contracts of more than three years in duration require approval of the Common Council.
