Fiscal Note

As stated in the Employment Agreement between the City of Madison and John Tate, II Robert Copley, the Independent Police Monitor’s salary will be based on a total annualized rate of $125,000 $122,000 effective November 14 December 5, 2022. The Independent Police Monitor position is approved and funded in the 2022 Adopted Operating Budget. Annual salary adjustments may be made during the term of the agreement at the Civilian Oversight Board’s discretion, subject to Common Council approval.

SUBSTITUTE: Adopting and Approving the Independent Police Monitor contract for confirmation of a five-year term.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Civilian Oversight Board has appointed John Tate II Robert Copley to the position of Independent Police Monitor and has recommended to the Common Council that their appointment be confirmed; and,

 

WHEREAS, the parties have reached an accord on the terms and conditions of an Employment Agreement between the City and the Mr. Tate II Copley.

 

NOW THEREFORE, be resolved that the appointment to the position of Independent Police Monitor is hereby confirmed, and the Common Council President and the City Clerk’s Office are authorized to execute an Employment Agreement between the City and Mr. Tate II Copley.
