The proposed resolution authorizes an amendment to an existing contract (#8253) for engineering design services at an estimated cost of $29,000. Funding is available in the Autumn Ridge Path capital project (Munis 11859-403-172).
Title
Authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute an Amendment to the contract between the City of Madison and Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc., for additional design engineering services for Autumn Ridge Path. (3rd AD).
Body
City Engineering has a proposed project to construct the new Autumn Ridge multi-use path between Milwaukee St. and Ziegler Rd., including a new overpass over Hwy 30. This project has been designated to receive Federal funds for construction of the path, and the project has been programmed for construction in 2024. The City has entered into a contract with Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc. (SEH) for design services (Contract No. 8253).
The City Engineer recommends that additional design services be undertaken SEH to provide a modified structure design to accommodate possible future sidewalk along Commercial Ave., and that the timeframe of the contract be extended to proceed with design services to accommodate the known construction schedule (was previously not programmed).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an Amendment to the contract between the City of Madison and Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc., for additional design engineering services for Autumn Ridge Path.
