Title

Approving plans and specifications and authorizing the Board of Public Works to advertise and receive bids for E-W Bus Rapid Transit Early Works Improvements and authorizing Traffic Engineering to initiate early procurement of long lead time items. (3rd, 4th, 6th, 12th, 15th, 17th AD).

Body

The Capital Budget includes funding for the E-W Bus Rapid Transit project.  The Early Works bid package addresses items needed prior to the main E-W Bus Rapid Transit project bid package, anticipated for October 2022.  This bid package performs geometric changes needed for maintenance of traffic, utility relocations, and signal and lighting relocations.  It also provides authority for early procurement of long lead items.

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,

 

1) That the plans and specifications for E-W Bus Rapid Transit Early Works Project, are hereby approved; and that,

 

2) That the Board of Public Works is authorized to advertise for and receive bids for the E-W Bus Rapid Transit Early Works Project.

 

3) That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute easement and lease documents necessary for the Project in accordance with MGO Ordinances and Policy, on a form and in a manner that has been approved by the City Attorney and Risk Manager.

 

4) That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to execute any documents necessary for consulting services as necessary for the project in accordance with MGO Ordinances and City Policy, on a form and in a manner that has been approved by the City Attorney and Risk Manager; and

 

5) That Traffic Engineering is hereby authorized to procure signal and other equipment with long lead times, in accordance with Federal Transit Administration and City Purchasing policy.
