Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution authorizes an estimated $2,330 for a façade improvement grant to Black Label Auto, LLC, located at 1425 Gilson Street. This grant will be funded by the Economic Development Division’s Small Business Equity and Recovery Program. No additional City appropriation is required.

WHEREAS, on October 3, 2000, the Common Council adopted Resolution ID # 61179, approving the Facade Improvement Grant Program to support and encourage small local businesses to reinvest in the downtown and smaller, neighborhood shopping and business areas and designating the Community Development Authority as the agent of the City for the operation and administration of the Program; and
WHEREAS, the grants are matching grants and will be provided in an amount up to 50% of the total project costs up to a maximum of $10,000 for a single facade, $20,000 for a building with two facades, and $25,000 for a “flatiron” building; and
WHEREAS, the Facade Improvement Grant Program Staff Team has reviewed the proposal from Black Label Auto, LLC and determined that it meets the requirements of the Program; and
WHEREAS, the Urban Design Commission and Landmarks Commission have reviewed the proposal on June 29 and recommend approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council does hereby approve the following Facade Improvement Grant:
1. Grantee: Black Label Auto, LLC, located at 1425 Gilson St.
2. Scope: The owner is installing one 4’6” x 15’4” x 2” deep, single face, non-illuminated wall sign on the Gilson Street façade of 1425 Gilson Street as described in Façade Grant Application.
3. Project Cost. Total project cost is estimated at $4,660.00. Façade Improvement Grant estimated at $2,330.00 (shall not exceed $10,000).
