Fiscal Note

The proposed resolution approves plans and seeks bids for a traffic signal installation at Henry Street & West Washington Avenue. The expected cost of the installation is $200,000. Legistar file #69335, enacted 2/3/22, added $250,000 in General Fund general obligation borrowing to Traffic Engineering's 2022 capital budget to fund this project. No additional appropriation required.

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Madison Traffic Engineering Department has recommended the installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of Henry Street & West Washington Avenue at the February 10, 2021 Transportation Commission (legistar file 64055); and

 

WHEREAS, the City of Madison Transportation Commission adopted the Traffic Engineering Departments Staff Recommendation report on February 10, 2021; and

 

WHEREAS, the City of Madison Traffic Engineering Department has determined that the City of Madison shall pay 100% of the cost of the project (legistar 69335); and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED

1.                     That the plans and specifications for the Henry Street & West Washington Avenue Traffic Signal project, be and are hereby approved; and

2.                     That the Board of Public Works be and is hereby authorized to advertise and receive bids for said project; and

3.                     That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to sign and grant easements or right-of -way release or procurement documents, maintenance agreements or encroachment agreements, as necessary and grant or accept dedication of lands and/or easements from/to the Developer/Owner for public improvements located outside the existing public fee title or easement right-of-ways.
