The proposed resolution authorizes a noncompetitive purchase of paver tiles for Monona Terrace. The cost of the tiles is $181,260. Monona Terrace's 2022 adopted capital budget included $1.2 million in general obligation borrowing within the agency's Building and Building Improvements capital program, which will be used to fund the tile purchase.

A Resolution to authorize the noncompetitive purchase of goods from Wausau Tile, Inc. as a sole source provider of custom color, finish and designed paver tiles. This expenditure will be funded through Monona Terrace's 2022 Capital Budget. The tiles will cost $181,260.37
Body
WHEREAS, Monona Terrace currently has custom color, finish and designed paver tiles, many which need to be replaced due to age, and normal wear and tear; and,
WHEREAS, Monona Terrace paver tiles were originally crafted, designed and supplied by Wausau Tile, Inc.; and,
WHEREAS, after working to find other suppliers, no company has been willing or able to produce the paver tile product with the specified color, finish and design; and
WHEREAS, for the reasons explained above and in the attached Noncompetitive Selection Request Form, Wausau Tile, Inc. is the only vendor that can provide the custom color, finish and designed paver tile; and,
WHEREAS, MGO 4.26(2) requires goods to be purchased using a competitive process approved by the Finance Director, and under the Finance Director’s Purchasing Guidelines, Common Council approval is required to purchase goods of $50,000 or more without a competitive process;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council hereby authorizes the purchase of $181,260.37 in custom color, finish and designed paver tiles from Wausau Tiles, Inc.
