Fiscal Note
This resolution authorizes a three (3) year agreement with the possibility of two (2) one-year renewals with ROC Ventures, LLC (d/b/a SC Wave) for field use at Reindahl Park. The agreement sets forth the terms and conditions upon which the City will allow SC Wave priority scheduling and maintenance responsibilities over five of the five (5) designated soccer fields at Reindahl Park. These revenues will be recognized in the Parks Division Operating Budget as follows: $6,750 annually in 2022, 2023 and 2024, and $7,000 in annually 2025 and 2026.

WHEREAS, in the Parks Master Plan for Reindahl Community Park, located at 1818 Portage Road, a significant portion of land is designated for the development of adult-sized soccer fields; and,
WHEREAS, since 2003, the City of Madison and Madison FC, Inc. entered into a series of field use agreements relating to Madison FC Inc.’s use of soccer fields in Reindahl Park, the most recent agreement expiring on November 15, 2021; and,
WHEREAS, Madison FC, Inc. has merged with the SC Wave Soccer Club, which is a soccer club of teams located in southern Wisconsin and owned by ROC Ventures, LLC. Madison FC, Inc. will be dissolved following the end of the 2021 season and operations will commence for the 2022 season under the name of SC Wave Madison; and,
WHEREAS, the Parties have a mutual interest in continuing the field use agreement that has been in place at Reindahl Park with Madison FC, through its new owner, SC Wave and ROC Ventures, LLC.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to enter into a Use Agreement with ROC Ventures, LLC (d/b/a SC Wave) for soccer field use and maintenance at Reindahl Park. 2022-2024, with two additional one-year renewals, consistent with the Reindahl Park Field Use Agreement for the 2022-2026 seasons a...
