Title

Accepting final report and proposed solutions of Stricker’s/Mendota Watershed Report

Body

As introduced during the January Board of Park Commissioners Meeting (File #68827), Engineering is bringing the first completed watershed study before the Board of Park Commissioners.  Watershed Studies will be completed for the City’s 22 watersheds over the next 5-10 years.  This study is called the Stricker’s/Mendota Watershed Study.  The Stricker’s/Mendota Watershed is located on the west side of the City of Madison.  The Watershed Study Report describes the methodology, approach, and results of the watershed study.

Of particular note to the Board of Parks Commissioners will be the temporary impacts to Stricker’s Park for the Proposed Longmeadow Relief Storm Sewer.  During construction of the proposed solution, a trench will be excavated to install the relief storm sewer parallel to the current storm sewer discharging to the forebay.  Once installed, the trench will be filled and the disturbed area will be restored.
