Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution authorizes a one year contract extension for inspection, plan development, and contract administration related to Parking Utility facilities (primarily parking garages). The cost of the one-year contract is $98,215. The Parking Utility 2022 operating budget includes $200,000 for consulting services and no additional appropriation is required.

The contract also provides for additional consulting work to be performed upon request of the Parking Division as needs arise over the duration of the contract. These costs will be charged to the Parking Division’s operating budget, subject to the availability of funds. There are no specific plans for additional consulting in 2022-2023 at this time.

Body
WHEREAS, the City of Madison Parking Division requires ongoing engineering services for maintenance of their parking structures and other facilities; and

WHEREAS, Graef-USA, Inc. has satisfactorily provided engineering services for the City of Madison Parking Division via a three year contract, such engineering services include performing inspection, developing plans and specifications, and contract administration for annual maintenance repair contracts for Parking Division facilities (primarily parking garages); and

WHEREAS, the current three year contract expires July 3, 2022; and

WHEREAS, the City of Madison Parking Division currently has an Interim Manager, pending hiring of a permanent Manager; and

WHEREAS, the City of Madison Director of Transportation and Interim Parking Manager suggest that the permanent Parking Manager be involved in drafting the next multi-year engineering services contract Request For Proposals (RFP); and
