Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution authorizes the allocation of up to $700,000 for grants to 8 community non-profit agencies to help finance their provision of services to support undocumented immigrant residents beginning March 15, 2022. These grants are funded by one-time State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF) from the federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). Use of ARPA SLFRF funds for this purpose was authorized by the Common Council through the adoption of RES-21-00487 (Legistar File 65935) on July 6, 2021. No additional City appropriation is required.

These grants are funded with one-time federal funds from the State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF) component of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).

The Community Development Division used a competitive application process to develop recommendations to allocate ARPA SLFRF funds The allocation of ARPA funds for this specific use was authorized by the Common Council on July 6, 2021, through the adoption of RES-21-00487 (Legistar File 65935) to support operating costs associated with immediate needs in the community.
