Title

Board of Health for Madison and Dane County Resolution #2022 - 07 Authorization to Accept Additional Funds from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services to Support the Overdose Fatality Review Team

Body

Public Health Madison and Dane County (PHMDC) proposes the acceptance of additional funding from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services to support efforts to reduce the rate of drug overdose death in Dane County. These funds allow PHMDC to facilitate a multidisciplinary Overdose Fatality Review (OFR) Team, which examines individual drug-involved overdose death cases in order to develop systems-level recommendations for preventing drug overdose deaths. Specifically, these additional funds will be used to support salary and fringe expenses for the OFR LTE Data Abstractor, purchase supplies for Overdose Education and Narcan Distribution events, host training events and community conversations screening The Wisdom of Trauma, and print harm reduction educational materials.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County on behalf of Public Health-Madison and Dane County authorizes the Director of Public Health, or their designee, to accept the amended consolidated contract funding in the amount of $10,000 in the 2022 budget.
