Body
Board of Health for Madison and Dane County
Resolution #2022 - 04
Authorization to Accept Additional Funds from the National Association of County & City Health Officials to Support the Health Equity and Overdose Prevention Mentorship Program
Public Health Madison and Dane County (PHMDC) proposes the acceptance of additional funding from the National Association of County & City Health Officials (NACCHO) to support the Health Equity and Overdose Prevention Mentorship Program. These funds will allow PHMDC’s Drug Harm Reduction & Overdose Prevention Team to advance their efforts to embed equity in the formation of a Community Advisory Board and in communications regarding overdoses. PHMDC will also receive mentorship and tools from NACCHO and other Local Health Departments to integrate health equity into drug overdose prevention and response work.
The Board of Health for Madison and Dane County previously approved Resolution #2021-18 authorizing the acceptance and contract signing for $15,000 from NACCHO, if awarded. PHMDC did receive the award and NACCHO increased the total funding amount to $20,000. The award start date was also shifted from a December 2021 start to a January 2022 start date.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County on behalf of Public Health Madison and Dane County authorizes the Director of Public Health, or their designee, to sign the contract, accept funding in the revised amount of $20,000, and amend the 2022 budget.
