The proposed resolution authorizes the application for a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) grant and amends the 2022 Adopted Stormwater Utility Capital Budget by increasing State Sources funding by $249,000 in the Stormwater Quality System Improvements major program to accept the grant.

Body
WHEREAS, the City of Madison Stormwater Utility is interested in obtaining a cost-share grant from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for the purpose of maintenance dredging of Spring Harbor; and

WHEREAS, A resolution guaranteeing acceptance of the funds, should they be awarded to the City is necessary to apply for this grant; and

WHEREAS, the City of Madison Engineering staff attests to the validity and veracity of the statements and representations contained in Engineering’s grant application; and

WHEREAS, an Agreement with the WDNR is required to accept the grant funds should they be awarded; and

WHEREAS, the City of Madison Stormwater Utility will complete the following tasks as required by the WDNR to apply for and accept a grant: Sign and submit the grant proposal, if a grant is awarded enter into a Grant Agreement with the WDNR and submit annual and final reports to the WDNR as required by the Agreement, submit reimbursement request(s) to the WDNR , sign and create a formal Public Access Easement for the boat launch, sign and submit other documentation as necessary to complete the project per the Agreement, and

WHEREAS, The agreement requires that the City indemnify the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. City APM 1- requires Common Council Approval whenever the City indemnifies another party.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Madison Engineering is authorized to apply for and accept a WDNR grant and will meet the ...
