Public Health Madison and Dane County (PHMDC) proposes the acceptance of funding from the National Association of County & City Health Officials (NACCHO) to support the Health Equity and Overdose Prevention Mentorship Program. These funds will allow PHMDC’s Drug Harm Reduction & Overdose Prevention Team to advance their efforts to embed equity in the formation of a Community Advisory Board and in communications regarding overdoses. PHMDC will also receive mentorship and tools from NACCHO and other Local Health Departments to integrate health equity into drug overdose prevention and response work. Under the terms of the merger agreement, Public Health Madison and Dane County may accept grants with the approval of the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County (IGA, VII, F, 1-3).
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County on behalf of Public Health Madison and Dane County authorizes the Director of Public Health, or their designee, to accept and sign the contract funding in the amount of $15,000 in the 2021 budget, if awarded.
