Title

Request from Dane County Department of Waste & Renewables to conduct exploratory site assessments and install monitoring equipment at Yahara Hills Golf Course to assess feasibility of site for proposed Yahara Sustainability Campus

Body

Dane County Department of Waste & Renewables and the City of Madison Public Works are interested in negotiating a land sale agreement involving a portion of Yahara Hills Golf Course for use as a sustainability campus. Exploratory site assessments are necessary to determine suitability of the site for these proposed purposes.  Dane County is requesting permission to access Yahara Hills Golf Course for the purposes of conducting exploratory site assessment work (ie. land survey, geotech boring, archaeological study, aerial flyover via drone, wetland delineation, etc.) and installing various monitoring stations on the course.  Any disruptive site work must be completed prior to the start of the Spring 2022 Golfing Season.  The City has significant interest in pursuing this transaction, and initial site assessments are required to determine if the County will be able to obtain the necessary permits to develop the land in this manner within the desired timeframe.
