Fiscal Note
The proposed resolution authorizes a four-year agreement with Dane County Emergency Management to compensate the Madison Fire Department (MFD) for servicing the medication and supply vending machines at local hospitals. The machines are owned by the County, however due to COVID, MFD has procured supplies, stocked inventory, and serviced the machines for the County since May 2021.
The City reimburses the County for the cost of medications and supplies that MFD uses from the vending machines. Funding for the supplies is included in MFD’s adopted operating budgets for 2021 and 2022.
To compensate MFD for servicing the machines, the County will deduct a total $19,630.72 from the City’s invoice for supplies for the period of May to December 2021. For the calendar years 2022, 2023, and 2024, the County will pay the City an annual sum of $15,000, $15,570 and $16,470 respectively for compensation of staff time to service the machines. No appropriation is required.
