The positions will be funded by state and federal grants including a WI Department of Health Services American Rescue Plan Act grant to support ongoing COVID-19 response and recovery efforts. A companion resolution to accept this grant funding and amend Public Health’s budget is also being introduced (Legistar file #67409).

Public Health is adding 19 new positions, 16 of which are limited term employees (LTE) and three permanent positions. All of the positions are funded by grants in 2021 and 2022. The annual cost of the three permanent positions is $330,000 including benefits and will be funded by Licensed Establishment fees beginning in 2023. The Dane County Board introduced 2021 RES-174 of the same title to create the position authority on September 9, 2021. No levy funding is required.
