The proposed resolution authorizes the double fill of the Library Computer Specialist position January 1, 2022 through July 16, 2022 at an estimated cost of $43,500 including benefits. This cost will be absorbed in Library’s 2022 Adopted Operating Budget or funded by Library reserves (estimated 2021 ending balance $1.6 million).

Body
WHEREAS, Library Computer Specialist John Schmitt is retiring from City of Madison employment effective July 16, 2022; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Schmitt’s last day of work will be May 31, 2022 and he will be using leave to cover the last 9 weeks of employment through July 16, 2022; and
WHEREAS, this position is critical to both the internal and public-facing technology operations of Madison Public Library, as it provides hands on support and connection between City IT and South Central Library Systems technology departments, and
WHEREAS, Library would like to offer the position and have the candidate begin by January 1, 2022, and
WHEREAS, the double-fill will exceed thirty (30) days;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Madison Public Library is authorized to double fill position #3802 at CG33-RG2 during the anticipated date range of January 1, 2022 to July 16, 2022, which will be Mr. Schmitt’s final date on the payroll.
